Meatworkers at Invercargill's Prime Range Meats are still waiting to hear about the fate of their company.
The meat processing plant last week suspended processing and sent its 130 workers home until further notice.
It's understood the closure occurred after issues popped up during a change in shareholding in the majority Chinese-owned company.
Gary Davis from the Meat Workers Union says at the moment they're giving the workers very honest advice.
"We've just said to them the best they can do is line up at WINZ and put their situation to them, but everybody's situation will be different," he said.
Davis says the company was meant to have had a meeting with the owners last night, but he's yet to be updated.
