Christchurch homeowners have no way of knowing how long they'll be left in the lurch following the collapse of Stonewood Homes.
The Registered Master Builders Association has confirmed it will complete 110 unfinished homes, but it's not known how long homeowners could be waiting.
CEO David Kelly said it will depend on the decisions the appointed receivers make in due course.
"Will they find another buyer? Will they have assigned the contracts to another builder? It's really in their hands, so I just don't have an answer I'm afraid."
Meanwhile, it's been confirmed 41 Stonewood Homes staff members have lost their jobs as a result of the ongoing saga.
Kelly said it's possible workers who've been made redundant could be able to work on the company's unfinished building sites in the future, but it's up to the receivers to make that decision, not him.
"If they sell the business, or if they assign the contracts to another builder, that entity or that business will decide what happens with the subcontractors in terms of taking them on."
