More than $80 million worth of methamphetamine has been intercepted at the Ports of Auckland.
It follows a joint operation between New Zealand Customs, Fiji Police Force, Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority and the Australian Federal Police.
According to police, last month a sea container sent from South America to Fiji was intercepted and examined, with around 80 kilograms of meth in it.
Inquiries undertaken by Fijian authorities have resulted in a Fijian national being arrested.
Customs Investigations Manager Maurice O鈥橞rien says this is a great example of international law enforcement agencies working together.
