The 42-year-old accused wore a blue boiler suit and appeared calm, answering the judge鈥檚 questions in a measured tone.听
Kan sought and was granted interim suppression of his client鈥檚 name, saying his mother, in her 90s, and other family may need to be informed.听
鈥淥bviously this will be quite a big shock for them,鈥 Kan said.听
Kan did not seek bail.听
Judge Manuel granted the man suppression of name, address and occupation. The judge also allowed the media to take pictures of the man on the condition they were blurred.听
He was remanded in custody without plea ahead if his next appearance in the High Court at Auckland on November 29.听
Police located the man in Hamilton last night.听
He is charged with murdering the couple by stabbing them to death on November 5.听

Beard added he is not going to go into too many details as the matter is before the court.听
The couple鈥檚 car was located on Hall Rd in Glenfield with its number plates changed.听

Chong did not drive so police said it was likely someone had driven her away. The state of the house indicated Chong did not leave the East Auckland home willingly.听
Beard had suggested the killing was a 鈥渢argeted attack鈥 and had appealed for anyone who had seen or heard from Chong.听
A workmate of Kwok visited the Celtic Crescent house this week and left flowers on the driveway.听
She told the听Herald听that Kwok used the name Joseph at his job as an orthopaedic nurse at North Shore Hospital.听
