Corrections and police will front up to concerned Upper Hutt residents today over fears about a convicted child sex offender.
They've been slammed for not giving out sufficient information about a man who was released in the area under GPS monitoring several months ago.
It's understood the man is under an extended supervision order and subject to multiple exclusion zones including schools and parks.
Only his immediate neighbours have been informed - sparking concern from residents and schools who had no idea he was living there.
Mayor Wayne Guppy and four school principals will be meeting with police and Corrections staff this afternoon.
