Jeremy Renner has described his daughter as his 鈥渞eason number one鈥 for surviving his near-fatal snowplough accident.听
The 52-year-old actor was hospitalised on January 1, 2023, after suffering blunt chest trauma and 30 broken bones after being hit by a snowplough while saving his nephew.听
Marking the first anniversary of the horror accident, he wrote: 鈥淩eason number one for my recovery is her.听
鈥淚 asked her to 鈥榳ait for me鈥 when I first saw her on January 14 as I arrived home. As I got better, she got better, less afraid.听
鈥淭here is simply no better motivator to recover than to heal your family and friends.听
鈥淲ith gratitude always, thank you all for your love and support this last full year. I needed every ounce of goodwill and prayer.鈥听
Renner also shared a video of a song called听Wait, which will feature on his upcoming听Love and Titanium听EP when it drops on January 19.听
The video features footage of himself and his daughter, while the collection as a whole reflects on his 鈥渏ourney of recovery鈥.听
On New Year鈥檚 Eve, he appeared on CNN and spoke to hosts Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen about his recovery.听
He explained: 鈥淚鈥檓 just so blessed that I have so many things to live for, brother.听
鈥淚 have a giant family, I have a 10-year-old daughter, [and] I would鈥檝e disappointed and really messed up a lot of people鈥檚 lives if I would鈥檝e passed, and so there鈥檚 a lot for me to get better for.听
鈥淭here was a lot for me to fight for, and recovery was just a one-way road in my mind.听

鈥淢y recovery became relief for me, because I knew I could give relief to my family, my daughter and all those that I really affected.鈥听
He explained that he 鈥渘ever鈥 focused on his 鈥渙wn physical ailments鈥, pain or 鈥渁nguish鈥.听
He added: 鈥淚 had so many things to fight for, so the one-way road of recovery was my mental, sort of, attitude, and that attitude was always to get better. There鈥檚 no option other than that.听
鈥淎nd I still work at every part, every day, and thank God that I have a lot to fight for.鈥听
