The director behind Twin Peaks and Mulholland Drive, David Lynch has died - he was 78.
The American film maker received three best director Oscar nominations and was given an honorary lifetime achievement Oscar in 2019.
Lynch was known for his dark and surrealist visual story telling and for pushing the boundaries of film-making.
His family announced his death in a Facebook post on Friday.
"It is with deep regret that we, his family, announce the passing of the man and the artist, David Lynch. We would appreciate some privacy at this time.
"There's a big hole in the world now that he's no longer with us. But, as he would say, 'Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole'."
Lynch was diagnosed with emphysema last year.
More to come.
