as his 鈥渟pecial ambassadors鈥 to Hollywood.
Trump announced that he had appointed the three actors, who are all longtime supporters of the President-elect, to these 鈥渁mbassador鈥 roles in a post on Truth Social today.
鈥淚t is my honour to announce Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone, to be Special Ambassadors to a great but very troubled place, Hollywood, California,鈥 he wrote, according to the Guardian.
Trump added that the actors would 鈥渟erve as Special Envoys to me for the purpose of bringing Hollywood, which has lost much business over the last four years to Foreign Countries, BACK - BIGGER, BETTER, AND STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE[sic]!鈥
鈥淭hese three very talented people will be my eyes and ears, and I will get done what they suggest,鈥 he continued, promising that 鈥淭he Golden Age of Hollywood鈥 would ensue.

It comes after countless celebrities voiced their support for his opponent Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election - and as the Los Angeles wildfires have caused devastation and widespread loss of life in an area central to the film and TV industry.
Countless Hollywood resident have lost their homes - including Gibson - while 25 people have died in the wildfires.
Trump鈥檚 newly-appointed special ambassadors have made headlines themselves in recent years.
Voight has criticised his estranged daughter and fellow actor Angelina Jolie for her support of Gazan refugees, describing it as 鈥減ropaganda鈥, while Gibson was recorded making anti-Semitic and racist comments during his arrest in 2006 for drink-driving.
Stallone lent Trump his support during the most recent election campaign, and has described Trump as a 鈥渟econd George Washington鈥.
It鈥檚 not known if the actors will be present at Trump鈥檚 inauguration on Monday local time - though country music stars Carrie Underwood and Jason Aldean, as well as Kid Rock, will perform during the ceremony.
