Matthew Perry鈥檚 ex-girlfriend and assistant has questioned why there was a lack of 鈥渄rugs paraphernalia鈥 at the scene of his death.

The actor 鈥 who shot to fame playing Chandler on NBC sitcom听Friends听from 1994 to 2004 and died on October 28, 2023, aged 54 from the 鈥渁cute effects鈥 of anaesthetic ketamine after receiving three injections of the drug 鈥 has had the circumstances of his death questioned by his ex-employee Kayti Edwards.

She said in a chat with the听Daily Mirror听newspaper: 鈥淚f you have given him a big shot, there would be a needle and evidence of ketamine in the house.

鈥漌here did it all go? Why did the assistant shoot him up with all those drugs and leave?

鈥滻 always stayed with Matthew if he was taking drugs as I didn鈥檛 want him to OD, or anything to happen. I could call 911.

鈥滲ut why wasn鈥檛 his assistant there?鈥

Kayti, 47, was Matthew鈥檚 assistant in 2011, and she dated the听Friends听star in 2006, with the pair staying friends until his death.

Matthew鈥檚 assistant Kenneth Iwamasa, 59, has told authorities he administered three doses of ketamine by injection to the actor on the day he died.

But Kayti said: 鈥淲hen I heard that he let his assistant do it, I just couldn鈥檛 understand, especially as he had no medical training.鈥

Iwamasa was among five people indicted over Matthew鈥檚 death, and he has already pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute ketamine causing death.

He admitted in plea deal papers to 鈥渞epeatedly injecting Perry with ketamine without medical training鈥.

US attorney Martin Estrada said two doctors charged in connection to the actor鈥檚 death 鈥渃ared more about profiting off of Mr Perry than caring for his wellbeing鈥.

He added: 鈥淢atthew Perry鈥檚 journey began with unscrupulous doctors who abused their position of trust because they saw him as a payday, to street dealers who gave him ketamine in unmarked vials.鈥
