Police have confirmed the body recovered from the Waikato River this morning was a 23-year-old swimmer who went missing on the weekend.
Hamilton man Hepisipa Tupou, drowned on Saturday after he got into difficultly swimming across the river.
His body was discovered by members of the public at around seven this morning.
