Repeat sexual offender Jason Trembath has pleaded guilty to breaching his prison release conditions, again.听
The disgraced former senior cricket representative appeared in the Rotorua District Court last week and pleaded guilty to a charge of breaching prison release conditions after he failed a mandatory drug test on June 24. The tests were a requirement of his parole conditions.听
On June 24, 2024, Trembath was found to have methamphetamine and amphetamine in his system.听
Judge Bill Lawson said he agreed with defence lawyer Alastair Burns, who recommended the 鈥渁ppropriate outcome鈥 be one-month imprisonment, 鈥渢o start immediately鈥.听

鈥淚 would consider that start point with 25% discount can properly end at one month鈥檚 imprisonment,鈥 Judge Lawson said.听
He told Trembath release conditions would not be required because 鈥測ou are still subject to your existing police conditions鈥.听
Judge Lawson said Trembath was subject to a recall order by the Parole Board and 鈥渢hat issue will be determined at some time in the future鈥.听
After sentencing, Trembath was taken back into police custody to begin serving the one-month sentence.听
In 2019, Trembath was听sentenced to five years and four months in prison听on 11 indecent assault charges and one of making and publishing an intimate visual recording.听
It has been previously reported the assault charges stemmed from听serial groping incidents in Rotorua, Hawke鈥檚 Bay and Havelock North听between 2017 and 2019 that involved him running up to women, grabbing their private parts and running off again.听
He was released on parole on May 4, 2021. He then breached his parole conditions by听contacting women on Tinder听and was last August jailed for a year for an听indecent act in a Rotorua carpark.听
He was granted parole in April this year.听
Trembath played cricket for Bay of Plenty at Hawke Cup level and senior cricket for the Taradale Cricket Club.听
