Detectives have scoured at least four different crime scenes around Auckland in connection with the alleged double murder of an听elderly couple - and two men have now been arrested听and charged.听听
Fuk-Fu Joseph Kwok, 66, was stabbed multiple times听at his home in the leafy suburb of Ellerslie, allegedly on Sunday, November 5, and a family member found his body the following Monday evening.听听
His wife,听Mei Han Chong, 67, went missing听after the alleged murder, prompting a police search for her and the couple鈥檚 car. Police initially said Chong could have been either a suspect or a victim.听
Police later revealed Chong didn鈥檛 drive and evidence inside the couple鈥檚 home suggested she didn鈥檛 leave of her own accord. Police then found her body in a bush area in Greenhithe overnight on Thursday.听
Chong鈥檚 body was winched up a steep bank and a post-mortem examination was expected to be completed today.听

His lawyer, Michael Kan, said he had spoken to the man, a Cantonese speaker, and believed he did not need an interpreter. The accused has been in New Zealand for many years.听
Kan sought and was granted interim suppression of his client鈥檚 name, saying his mother, in her 90s, and other family members may need to be informed.听
鈥淥bviously this will be quite a big shock for them,鈥 Kan said.听
Kan did not seek bail.听
Judge Manuel granted the man suppression of name, address and occupation. The judge also allowed media to take pictures of the man on the condition they were blurred.听
He was remanded in custody without plea ahead of his next appearance in the High Court at Auckland on November 29.听

On Tuesday, Detective Inspector Scott Beard said police had begun a homicide inquiry into the killing of the man, who was later revealed as Fuk-Fu Joseph Kwok.听
Police had few leads on the circumstances of the alleged murder for the three days of their investigations.听
Kwok left work about 11pm on Saturday and it usually took him about an hour and a half to get home. The couple鈥檚 car hadn鈥檛 been seen since then.听
On Thursday, Beard said of the incident: 鈥淲e are keeping an open mind to what happened.听

鈥淪he could be a suspect or she could be a victim,鈥 he said of Chong.听
Beard maintained throughout the early stages of the investigations Chong may have been a victim of foul play herself.听
She was last seen at the family home over the weekend.听
Police asked the public for any information or sightings of the couple鈥檚 blue Kia Rio.听
鈥淭his [case] is like a jigsaw. We鈥檙e trying to put the pieces together,鈥 Beard said.听

鈥淚t would appear this is a targeted attack - but we just don鈥檛 know why,鈥 he said.听
鈥淚 hope she鈥檚 still alive, but I can鈥檛 say that,鈥 Beard earlier said of Chong鈥檚 welfare.听
