An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of a fire at a scrap metal yard in Hamilton.
It took almost two hours to extinguish the blaze at the National Steel Ltd scrap metal yard in Frankton.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand was alerted to a scrapyard fire at Ellis St, Frankton at around 5.11pm yesterday.
A Fire and Emergency spokesperson said seven trucks attended the fire at its peak with multiple cars on fire.

鈥淚t was extinguished around 7pm. No people were trapped or injured.鈥
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause.
Police were not required for this incident.
A nearby Dinsdale resident said they 鈥渟aw and smelt huge plumes of smoke鈥, and went for a drive to get a 鈥済limpse of the action from a safe distance.鈥
鈥淚t had drawn quite a crowd. The fire brigade did a good job at containing it.鈥
