An investigation has been launched following an 鈥渁ssault鈥 in where it is understood a nurse suffered stab-like injuries while on a house call.
A said they were 鈥渋nvestigating an assault鈥 at an address on Maxwell Rd in Ngongotah膩, Rotorua after 12pm today.
鈥淭he victim was taken to Rotorua Hospital for treatment for their injuries.鈥
The Herald understands the victim is a nurse who was responding to a house call at the time.
Images shared with the Herald show injuries on the victim鈥檚 arms consistent with stab-like wounds.
Comment has been sought from Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora.
A Hato Hone St John spokesperson confirmed one ambulance and a rapid response unit attended the scene, but referred all other questions to police.
