Wife and business co-owner Cushla Abraham said Hintz was 鈥渁lways there for the crew and just a pleasure to have in the shearing shed鈥.

She described him as 鈥渏ust happy鈥.

鈥淣othing was ever a problem. He always did his part, did his best. He was just a top man ... it鈥檚 so heartbreaking that he was just full of promise 鈥 he had just started talking about travelling for shearing to the UK.鈥

鈥淵ou constantly made an effort to bring me to events, show me new foods, and help me experience the culture. I鈥檓 grateful I was able to buy you a beer for your birthday and watch our Christchurch Crusaders win the Super Rugby Pacific championship together. Those are memories I will never forget.鈥

He said he would 鈥渇orever be grateful for how you positively affected my time spent in New Zealand鈥.
