Veteran's Affairs Minister Craig Foss is heading to South Korea today, to remember our soldiers who fought in the Korean War.
The minister will attend a ceremony to mark the 65th anniversary of the Battle of Gapyeong.
He will also attend an Anzac Day service next week, and present service medals to our soldiers stationed in the demilitarised zone.
"I'll be honoured to present five New Zealand general service medals and two New Zealand operational service medals to our military personnel who are currently in the DMZ zone in Korea."
Mr Foss said while the Korean conflict often goes under the radar here, our contribution isn't lost on the South Koreans.
"You have to see it to be believed. They are so grateful to what we did 65 years ago."
