A Napier woman has been found not guilty of the manslaughter of a kindergarten teacher.
The jury took an hour and half to deliver the verdict for Lyree Sayers at the High Court in Napier after three days.
The Crown accused the 26-year-old of trying to commit suicide by purposely crashing into Pam McGarva's car in July last year.
Sayers had a heated argument with her boyfriend of the time, moments before she got into her car and crashed almost head on into the 55-year-old.
McGarva suffered serious head injuries and died in hospital 11 days later.
Family members of McGarva yelled out in court - saying 'scum' and 'she's now free to kill someone else' after the verdict was delivered.
