One person is in a critical condition after a vehicle crashed into a fence along a busy Hastings street.
The Serious Crash Unit were called to the incident which happened about 2.55pm on Pakowhai Rd on Thursday.
鈥淲e have assessed and treated one patient who was transported to Hawke鈥檚 Bay Hospital in a critical condition,鈥 a St John ambulance spokesperson said.
A police spokeswoman said a 鈥渧ehicle has struck a fence鈥 in the incident.
As at 3.30pm, part of that road - close to Bareknuckle BBQ restaurant - had been cordoned off and diversions were in place.
