A pedestrian has been seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle in the Botanic Gardens in Christchurch.
Police received a report of a person struck by a vehicle near a cafe in the gardens about 7am on Thursday.
鈥淭he pedestrian is reported to have a leg injury,鈥 a police spokesperson said.
鈥淭he vehicle was subsequently located and impounded, inquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances that led to the vehicle being in the park.鈥
St John said it was notified at 6.55am.
鈥淥ne ambulance responded and transported one patient in a serious condition to Christchurch Hospital,鈥 a St John spokesperson said.
