Good news for those still on holiday - New Zealand will soon be basking in summer temperatures once more.
It's been a miserable start to the New Year for many in the upper North Island, with days of heavy rain and strong winds forcing campers to cut short their vacations.
But weather commentator Richard Green said it looks like conditions will settle down this week, starting tomorrow, for most of New Zealand.
He said a high moving in from the Tasman Sea should see a return to mainly dry conditions, plenty of sunshine, and temperatures creeping back into the twenties - but the forecast is a bit concerning for holiday makers remaining in the Nelson area.
He said heavy rain could pass through around lunch time today, with the worst of it likely to arrive between 6pm and 7pm tonight.
Mr Green said conditions in Auckland, Coromandel and central parts of the North Island will ease this morning.
