There are reports of cost cutting in the plans for Dunedin鈥檚 new hospital. Proposals apparently include reducing the number of beds and operating theatres, and dropping entire wards.
Health Minister Andrew Little reckons he鈥檚 had no advice about any proposed changes to the scale of the projects. Aaron Hawkins, Mayor of Dunedin is similarly unaware of the truth to this. 聽
鈥淚t certainly hasn鈥檛 been a conversation they鈥檝e had with us, and the city has been reasonably well connected to the new Dunedin hospital project. So it鈥檚 very concerning to see these sorts of proposals being floated in the public domain.鈥
