How can we possibly be angry about this today?ÌýÌý

I’m not at all callous to business, especiallyÌýhospoÌýwho I know will have broken hearts right now.Ìý

ButÌýwe knew this was coming,ÌýDelta was always going to breach our border at some stage.Ìý

We’re the last elimination country that hasn’t had it.Ìý

The only surprise is that it’s arrived maybe a little bit earlier than many of us thought it might.Ìý

I mean, I had bets on riding October but here it is inÌýAugust.ÌýÌý

And we knew when itÌýarrived,Ìýwe’d be straight into a lockdown.ÌýThe government warned us delta would mean a level fourÌýlockdownÌýstraightÌýaway.Ìý

That’s what happens when your vaccine rollout is so slow you are literally the bottom ranked country in the OECD.Ìý

That’s the fact.ÌýÌýWe’ve known for moths that was happening too.ÌýÌý

What’s the point in crying about now?ÌýÌýIf you don’t like how slowÌýLabour’s rolled out the vaccine, vote for someone else next time.Ìý

RightÌýnow,Ìýthere’s nothing we can do but sit tight and do our bit and follow the rules.ÌýÌý

It is of course not surprising that there some clowns out there like Billy TK getting himself arrested today protesting the lockdown.Ìý

You might not like it either, but anyone with half a brain can see that this is necessary if we want to maintain elimination.Ìý

AndÌýsurelyÌýwe want to maintain it until at least everyone who wants the jab gets theÌýjab?Ìý

I think If I had to sum up how I feel about this lockdown, I’d say I’m just tired.ÌýÌýÌýÌý

I imagine plenty ofÌýAucklandersÌýfeel like that right now.ÌýÌý

We’ve already done three months inÌýlockdownÌýall up.ÌýÌýNow we’ve got more ahead of usÌýÌý

ButÌýhere’s hoping it’s one of the last.ÌýÌýBecause soonÌýsurely,Ìýjab rates will up high enough to prevent this.ÌýÌý

So,Ìýone more crack at it.Ìý
