The Government doesn't have a "hope in Hades" of achieving its Kiwibuild policy.
That's according to new National Party leader Simon Bridges.
The Government aims to deliver 100,000 affordable homes in 10 years and听half听will be in Auckland.
But Bridges told Leighton Smith the plan is fundamentally flawed.
"They don't have a hope of doing that program unless there are workers in to do the work, so I think you do need to keep immigration running."
Simon Bridges says there are "two or three things" National can do to win the 2020 election.
And Bridge's says Labour's lack of clarity on immigration's causing uncertainty for businesses.
Labour went into the election promising to slash immigration, but now appears to have somewhat softened its stance.
Bridges says a number of industries are screaming out for talent, and they need assurances.
"And now we don't have certainties for what the actual policies are. So businesses can't plan for growth, in fact as I say, in some cases they have to plan for the reverse."
