A call for better understanding of transgender athletes, ahead of a history-making day at the Commonwealth Games.
An advocate for transgender athletes is warning against hysteria over New Zealand weightlifter Laurel Hubbard.
Hubbard is expected to win gold in today's over 90 kilogram category, after unsuccessful calls to have her banned from the competition.

Critics claim the 40-year-old, who has previously competed as a man, has an unfair advantage.
But Athlete Ally policy director Anne Liebermann told Mike Hosking that is not how gender transition works.
"If you talk to most athletes who have transitioned they will say that the changes their bodies have gone through have been tough at some point and it has changed the way they compete."
Liebermann claims there is no scientific evidence Hubbard will have an advantage.
"You see this hysteria, but the reality is that there is actually no rationale that is based in science that Trans athletes shouldn't be competing."
