Born in Auckland, road and track cyclist Aaron Gate joined the national high-performance squad in 2010 and currently rides for UCI Continental team Bolton Equities Black Spoke Pro Cycling. He represented New Zealand country in track cycling at the 2012, 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics, and the Delhi 2010 and Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Aaron recently became the first New Zealand athlete to win four gold medals at a single Commonwealth Games at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, taking gold in the individual pursuit, team pursuit and points race on the track as well as the road race. He was the New Zealand Team Closing Ceremony flagbearer.
Aaron and his wife Kirstie have one son, Axel.
