Born in Melbourne, Antony Loewenstein is an Australian-German freelance investigative journalist, author, and filmmaker. He co-founded of听Declassified Australia听in 2021 to uncover Australia鈥檚 often secretive relationships with the world. He鈥檚 worked in dozens of countries worldwide and was based in South Sudan in 2015 and East Jerusalem between 2016 and 2020. He has written for听The New York Times,听The Guardian,听The Washington Post,听The New York Review of Books,听Sydney Morning Herald, and听The Australian听among others. He appears regularly on TV, radio, in public and at universities around the world discussing current affairs and politics. He won the 2019 Jerusalem (Al Quds) Peace Prize, one of Australia鈥檚 leading peace awards. He is currently developing a number of documentary film projects. He sits on the advisory council of the British-based Sri Lanka Campaign for Peace and Justice. He is the co-founder of the advocacy group Independent Australian Jewish Voices.
His latest book听The Palestine Laboratory: How Israel Exports the Technology of Occupation Around The World听was released in May 2023听and was a long-list finalist in the Moore Prize, an international literary and human rights award.
